How to Book an Openwater Course with Nautilus.

Bookings can be done over the phone (with a credit card) for convenience or in person at our Toowong Training Facility.

Your Openwater Course will commence with classroom theory on Saturday and then a pool session on Sunday. Please remember to bring a notebook and pens to your first lecture.

You will also need to pass a dive medical before commencement of your course. (This is not included in the cost of the course.) Please bring results with you on the first day of lectures.

What Must I Provide For My Open Water Course?

Personal Equipment

  • Swimsuit and towel (for the pool session).
  • 1 digital photo (head & shoulders/white background passport style in JPEG format - available at Nautilus for a fee).
  • Personal snorkelling Equipment. If you don't own your own equipment, Nautilus will personally fit you into items suitable for your face, foot size and scuba diving. Unsuitable equipment can cause students to have problems trying to complete their scuba skills for their course, i.e. mask leakage and high air consumption due to lack of fin propulsion. Once again, we have no hidden costs with our packages and students receive real value for money.
  • All personal gear, if not purchased from the shop, must be verified by the store manager before students can go on the boat. Due to liability reasons, students will not be booked on the boat until our manager is satisfied gear is appropriate and safe.
  • There is a no return policy on any purchases for non-warranty issues.
Our course includes a personalised equipment orientation!

Our package includes:

  • Hard sole boots with zippers
  • Re-enforced gloves
  • A range of silicone masks
  • Snorkels with drainer valves
  • A range of fins suitable for diving

Nautilus sells only the highest quality gear. It will last you a lifetime. Buying your own personal equipment will increase your comfort and safety in the water.
