Stress & Rescue Course
(The minimum level you should attain in diving education - the course EVERY
diver should do)
The Nautilus Stress & Rescue Course is the best of its kind in Brisbane.
Divers wishing to participate usually want to increase their diving skills
and knowledge or are looking to join the intake of the Nautilus Dive
Control Specialist Course.
At Nautilus we believe in Rescue training from Openwater level. This
is why our Learn to Dive courses are sought out by Universities and private
schools. At this level the Stress & Rescue course trains the diver
in both self rescue skills (everyone needs this) and the rescue and
treatment of divers. Rescue trained divers are sought out as buddies
on dive trips! Wouldn't you rather dive with a buddy you know can help
himself or you in case of an emergency.
Our course is 4 days (2 weekends) contact with your Instructor.
- Day 1: Saturday Stress & Rescue Lectures
- Day 2: Sunday Pool Rescue Scenarios/Self Rescue Skills
- Day 3: Saturday Day Trip on 22 metre SUPERCAT
- Day 4: Sunday Day Trip on 22 metre SUPERCAT
Boat diving is an important component of our Stress & Rescue course.
95% of our diving is from boats, so it makes sense to learn Rescue skills
and scenarios from the deck of a working dive vessel. Whilst onboard
students will also be given the chance to familiarize themselves with
radios, tenders, first aid and Oxygen kits.
