About Us

Nautilus Scuba Centre Toowong is the leading Professional Scuba Training Facility in Brisbane and has been a Brisbane diving icon for over 18 years.

We are conveniently located at Toowong which is a few kilometres west of the Brisbane CBD. Close to train and bus services and Queensland University, we cater to a larger number of divers - both local and international. Since we train our Dive Control Specialists & Instructors, we can pick the best of the best to become a Nautilus Instructor. This ensures that only the most competent Instructors will teach you, making your course safer, easier and more enjoyable!

Our resident Course Director Lisa Edwards, is a 20 year veteran of the dive industry and one of Queensland's most senior female Instructors. She first learnt to dive in Mackay, around an island "teeming with sea snakes!!!" in 1983 and completed her Instructors Course in 1986 (in those days female Instructors were uncommon). Lisa has thousands of dives under her belt and has held Instructor ratings with PADI, NAUI, NASDS, and is now an SSI Course Director. She also holds over 10 Specialties.

Areas Lisa has dived include Truk Lagoon, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and the Great Barrier Reef including Lady Elliot and Heron Islands.

Lisa is an avid environmentalist and native plant propagator. In 2004, she spent 2 months traveling the deserts of Australia in a 4WD (deserts you say???) including western Queensland, the Simpson Desert, Ayers Rock Central Australia, Western Australia and the Canning Stock Route.

Lisa can give you great ideas on where to plan your next diving destination and can also advise on your next scuba courses and suitable dive equipment.

Nautilus is the only Professional Dive Facility in SE Queensland affiliated with three internationally recognized Training Organisations. Since we have reached and maintained the standards set by SSI and NAUI and PADI, we can guarantee that you will receive the highest quality training available.
